Jio dominates Odisha telecom scene, adds 24X more subscribers than rivals in September: TRAI

Reinforcing its position as Odisha’s most trusted and preferred digital service provider, Reliance Jio has achieved a remarkable milestone by adding over 1.96 lakh new mobile subscribers in September 2025, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). In stark contrast, Vi added only 7,980 subscribers, while Airtel and BSNL witnessed significant losses during the same period.

Jio’s net additions stood at 24 times higher than its nearest competitor, capturing the lion’s share of Odisha’s total new mobile connections for the month. With this, Jio’s total mobile subscriber base in the state has surged past 1.67 crore, commanding a 46.8 per cent market share — a clear reflection of the unmatched consumer confidence in its all-IP 4G and True 5G networks.

As per TRAI’s report, Odisha’s overall mobile user base grew by around 1.88 lakh in September, crossing 3.58 crore subscribers. Nationally too, Jio continued its dominance, adding 32.49 lakh new subscribers, reaffirming its position as India’s largest and fastest-growing digital service provider.

Jio also maintained its leadership in the home broadband and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) segments, driven by the massive success of JioFiber** and JioAirFiber. Together, these services now connect over 6 lakh homes and businesses across Odisha — including 3.38 lakh JioFiber, 2.43 lakh 5G FWA, and over 31,000 UBR FWA subscribers as of September 2025.
