Thrill and triumph mark O.P. Jindal School’s Annual Athletic Meet 2025-26

O. P. Jindal School, Angul, came alive with vibrant energy and competitive spirit as it hosted its Annual Athletic Meet 2025-26 at the Sports Complex, Jindal Nagar. The atmosphere brimmed with enthusiasm as students from all classes participated with remarkable zeal.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director (I/c), Jindal Steel, Angul, as the Chief Guest, and Damodar Mittal, Executive Director (Projects & Iron Zone), as the Guest of Honour. Both leaders addressed the gathering, emphasising the values of dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship — qualities that, they noted, build true champions and pave the way to success. Their presence was further honoured by Seema Malhan and Anita Mittal, President of Jindal Mahila Samiti, along with other distinguished guests.

The day began with an inspiring inauguration by Brig. Dinesh Sharma, Head of SFSS. The opening ceremony featured the School Song, a synchronised March Past, the symbolic Torch Lighting, and the Oath-Taking ceremony, all of which set the tone for a day of spirited competition.

The four Houses — Azad, Raman, Ramanujan, and Sarojini — marched with pride and precision under the leadership of their House Captains, School Prefects, and House Masters. Azad House was adjudged the Best House in March Past, while Ramanujan House claimed the title of Best House in Sports, marking an impressive overall performance.

The meet also celebrated individual excellence, honouring the Best Athletes of the year. In the junior category (Classes 6–8), Nikun Behera and Dibyashree Sahu received the distinction, while in the senior category (Classes 9–12), Tamojeet Sahu and Riya Dutta were recognised for their outstanding athletic achievements. All winners were awarded medals for their exceptional performances on the field.

Colourful cultural performances and enthusiastic participation in various track and field events added liveliness and excitement to the event, making it a memorable celebration of talent and teamwork.

Principal Ashwini Kumar Sahu expressed heartfelt appreciation for the collective efforts of students, parents, teachers, and staff, whose dedication and support ensured the grand success of the Annual Athletic Meet 2025-26. The event stood as a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering sportsmanship, excellence, and holistic development among its students.
