Vedanta Lanjigarh celebrates academic excellence with merit scholarships at DAV Vedanta International School

22 exceptional students awarded for outstanding academic performance in the Academic Year 2024-25

In a significant step towards empowering youth and fostering educational excellence, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, recognized the academic achievements of 22 outstanding students from DAV Vedanta International School, Lanjigarh. The students were felicitated under the prestigious Vedanta Merit Scholarship Awards for their exceptional performance during the 2024-25 academic year.

The award ceremony, held on December 9, was graced by Animesh Pradhan, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Lanjigarh, and saw an enthusiastic celebration of the students’ hard work and dedication. The Vedanta Merit Scholarship Awards aim to reward and motivate students who have demonstrated excellence in their studies, inspiring them to continue pursuing their academic and professional aspirations.

As part of the award scheme, students who scored over 90% in the 10th and 12th standard examinations were presented with ₹10,000 each. In addition, students who secured more than 90% in individual subjects were given ₹5,000. A total of ₹8,000 each was awarded to the top-performing students from standards VI to IX, highlighting the diversity of academic excellence across age groups.

Speaking at the event, Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO of Vedanta Alumina Business, emphasized the critical role of education in shaping a progressive society. “Through the Vedanta Merit Scholarship Awards, we aim to recognize excellence, inspire ambition, and empower young minds to pursue their dreams with confidence. These students are the future leaders of Kalahandi, and we are proud to support their journey,” he said.

Animesh Pradhan, BDO of Lanjigarh, also lauded the initiative for its positive impact on the community. “Such initiatives are crucial in motivating students from all backgrounds to achieve their full potential,” he remarked. “Vedanta Lanjigarh’s consistent support for education is transforming the region, and I commend the students for their hard work and discipline. Continue to strive for excellence and make a difference.”

The Vedanta Merit Scholarship is part of Vedanta Lanjigarh’s broader commitment to supporting quality education and building a strong foundation for youth empowerment in the region. The initiative aligns with Vedanta’s ongoing efforts to create an enabling ecosystem for student development and academic achievement.
