Cuttack, July 19, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Bank of Baroda, one of India’s premier public sector banks, has taken a significant step in enhancing its presence in the semi-urban regions of Odisha with the inauguration of its latest branch in Choudwar, Cuttack. This strategic move marks BoB’s 20th semi-urban branch in the Cuttack Region and the 61st in the state of Odisha, further solidifying its commitment to expanding financial accessibility in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO of Bank of Baroda, alongside Swapna Bandopadhaya, General Manager & Zonal Head of the Bhubaneswar Zone, as well as senior bank executives and staff members.
This new branch increases BoB’s footprint in the Cuttack Region to 60 branches and elevates its total number of branches in Odisha to 179.
In his address at the inauguration, Debadatta Chand emphasized the bank’s dedication to financial inclusion and community development, stating, “We are pleased to add to our presence and deepen our commitment to the state of Odisha. With the opening of this new semi-urban branch at Choudwar, the Bank aims to provide the people of the region with improved access to mainstream banking services and promote financial inclusion.”
Bank of Baroda’s Bhubaneswar Zone, which encompasses the states of Odisha and Jharkhand, now boasts a network of 304 branches. This includes a robust presence in rural areas with 99 branches and 102 semi-urban branches, reflecting BoB’s strategy to cater to diverse banking needs across various demographic segments.
