Centurion University of Technology & Management (CUTM) has etched its name in history by becoming the first Indian university to exhibit at the prestigious Design Automation Conference (DAC), being held in San Francisco from June 22 to 25, 2025. The 62nd edition of DAC, themed “Chips to Systems,” is the world’s leading forum for electronic design automation (EDA), semiconductor innovation, and system design, drawing participation from industry giants including Siemens, ChipAgents AI, Synopsys, Keysight, Ansys, Cadence, and Rocket Software.
Representing CUTM at this high-profile event is a team led by Prof. D.N. Rao, Co-Promoter and Vice President of the University, along with Prof. Dr. Chandrasekhar Dash and Laxmikant Sutar.
Speaking on the momentous occasion, Prof. Rao said, “Our participation at DAC 2025 reflects our commitment to cutting-edge research and innovation. It is a proud moment for Indian academia, as we become the first university from the country to showcase our capabilities on such a world-class stage.”
At DAC 2025, CUTM is showcasing a suite of innovations that span across domains of embedded systems, digital manufacturing, environmental automation, and smart retrofitting. Key innovations on display include the Physical Design of Chromite M SoC, a next-generation System-on-Chip platform; digital apparel tracking systems; IoT-enabled solutions like the Smart Polyhouse and CUTM Dome; a high-throughput plant phenotyping system; a state-of-the-art Electric Control Unit (ECU); and a retrofit automation system for manual lathes.
Further bolstering its industry-academia collaboration model, CUTM has joined hands with Marquee Semiconductors, a prominent semiconductor design firm. The partnership is aimed at integrating advanced semiconductor technologies into the university’s curriculum while providing hands-on training with industry-standard EDA tools. This collaboration underscores CUTM’s vision of becoming a global hub for semiconductor education and design innovation.
