Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga on Saturday with an inspiring display of enthusiasm and community spirit at its Angul plant and surrounding areas. This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” resonated deeply with JSP’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and holistic living, emphasizing the intrinsic link between personal well-being and the health of our planet.
Hundreds of participants — including employees, their families, workers, students, and local villagers — came together for yoga sessions held across multiple venues. The vibrant Yoga Camp at Jindal Nagar saw active participation from senior leaders such as Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director In-Charge; Damodar Mittal, Executive Director–Projects; Dilip Sinha, Chief Human Resources Officer; Atul Dubey, President – Steel Zone, along with department heads and representatives from the surrounding communities.
The sessions were expertly guided by renowned Yoga Guru Swami Satyabindu Saraswati, who led the group through an array of asanas and breathing techniques aimed at enhancing physical vitality, mental clarity, and a deeper connection with nature.
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director In-Charge, said: “At Jindal, yoga is an integral part of our daily lives, nurtured by the wisdom of Swami Satyabindu Ji. This year’s theme serves as a poignant reminder that our health is intricately connected to the well-being of the Earth. Let us embrace this message not only today but in our everyday actions moving forward.”
Swami Satyabindu Saraswati also spoke on the occasion, emphasizing the importance of yoga in fostering both personal and planetary health. “We are privileged to have a visionary leader like Shri Naveen Jindal Ji, who leads by example in promoting a culture of health and well-being. Through the regular practice of yoga, we not only enhance our own vitality but also contribute to a healthier, more balanced world. Let us honour this interconnectedness by committing to a daily practice of yoga.”

The celebrations extended beyond the plant’s premises, with yoga sessions hosted at several key locations, including O.P. Jindal School, DAV Savitri Jindal School, Jindal Asha, Jana Jeevika Kendra, Shram Veer Palace, and various other community centers under the auspices of the Jindal Foundation. The Foundation further strengthened its commitment to health and sustainability by planting medicinal plants at Jana Jeevika Kendra, reinforcing the theme of interconnected wellness.
