Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) solemnly observed the sacred Debasnana Purnima today at the Jagannath Temple in Devbhoomi, Jindal Nagar, Angul, in a ceremony marked by deep spiritual fervor and cultural richness. The auspicious occasion drew hundreds of devotees from Jindal Nagar and nearby villages who gathered to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.
Adya Sebak Naveen Jindal, Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra and Chairman of JSP, along with Adya Sebika Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of Jindal Foundation, graced the ceremony with their presence, participating in the rituals with reverence.
The day began at 5 AM with traditional rituals including Dwara Phita, Mangal Aarti, Shrikarpura Lagi, Mangalarpana Neeti, Pushpanjali, and Sarbanga. These were followed by the sacred Snana Yatra — a holy bathing ritual performed with 108 pitchers of sanctified water — at the Snana Mandap, after the Dhadi Pahandi procession of the Chaturdha Murati.
As the temple bells echoed with chants of “Jai Jagannath”, the rituals were conducted in adherence to the customs of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, under the guidance of the temple’s chief priest. The ceremony reflected JSP’s dedication to preserving and celebrating Odisha’s vibrant spiritual heritage.
Sharing his sentiments, Naveen Jindal said, “Feeling truly blessed to witness the divine Snana Yatra of Mahaprabhu Jagannath at our Angul plant. It is not just a festival; it is a moment of spiritual awakening and gratitude. May Mahaprabhu bestow good health, peace, and prosperity upon all.”
In the evening, the Anasara Pahandi was observed, marking the deities’ ceremonial retreat into the Anabasara Ghara for a 14-day period of rest before the much-awaited Rath Yatra. The event concluded with collective prayers and a renewed spirit of devotion among the attendees.
