In a remarkable achievement for India’s technology landscape, billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries has been named the only Indian company in the list of the world’s top 30 most highly valued publicly traded technology firms. The prestigious ranking appears in a comprehensive 340-page global report titled “Trends – Artificial Intelligence”, which explores the transformative power and rapid adoption of AI technologies across the globe.

Reliance, with a market capitalisation of USD 216 billion, ranks 23rd on the list, standing tall among global tech titans. The top eight positions are dominated by American powerhouses—Microsoft, Nvidia, Apple, Amazon, Alphabet (Google), Meta Platforms, Tesla, and Broadcom. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and China’s Tencent follow in 9th and 10th positions, respectively.

The report provides a historic perspective, highlighting that over the past 30 years (1995–2025), only five firms — Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, IBM, and AT&T — have consistently remained in the top 30 most valuable tech companies. Reliance joins a new era of entrants such as Nvidia, Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Tesla, Alibaba, Salesforce, and China Mobile, underscoring its growing global stature in the technology sector.

The document also traces shifting geographical trends. In 1995, the U.S. accounted for 53% of the top 30 tech firms, a figure that has grown to 70% in 2025. In contrast, Japan’s presence has diminished entirely, from 30% in 1995 to zero in 2025. Other countries like the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mexico, and Malaysia, which each had a presence in 1995, are now absent from the elite list.

The 2025 landscape of top tech firms includes new entrants from China (3 firms), Germany (2), Taiwan (1), the Netherlands (1), South Korea (1), and India (1) — with Reliance proudly representing the latter.

This recognition cements Reliance’s strategic transformation from a traditional energy and petrochemicals giant into a cutting-edge technology and digital services powerhouse, driven by its ambitious ventures in telecommunications, digital platforms, and artificial intelligence.

As global AI and digital revolutions accelerate, Reliance’s inclusion in this elite club marks a defining moment for India’s emergence as a serious player in the global tech arena.
