Berhampur, June 26, 2024 (TBB Bureau): As the monsoon season approaches, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has implemented robust measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply across the region. TPSODL has fortified its infrastructure and operational capabilities to swiftly address any contingencies that may arise during the inclement weather.
At the heart of their preparations is the Power Supply Control System (PSCC) in Berhampur, equipped to monitor electricity distribution round the clock. To bolster emergency response, mobile substations have been strategically deployed.
Key initiatives undertaken by TPSODL include replacing 414 faulty Distribution Transformers (DTRs), extensive tree trimming along 3,921 circuit kilometres (CKM) of 11kV feeders to mitigate tripping risks, and comprehensive vegetation removal and substation cleaning for 1,503 Distribution Substations (DSS).
Furthermore, the company has erected 92 intermediate High Tension (HT) poles and 90 Low Tension (LT) poles to maintain safety clearances, installed 205 HT poles and 354 LT poles, and addressed oil leakages in 193 DTRs. Additional measures include enhancing earthing points, ensuring satellite phone connectivity, and fortifying safety protocols for Business Associates (BAs).
To handle emergencies effectively, TPSODL has bolstered its workforce, equipped offices with essential tools, and strengthened Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and Fuse Call Centres (FCC) teams across urban and expansive rural areas.
“The safety of our consumers is paramount as we approach the rainy season. Our teams are committed to safeguarding our network through rigorous inspections and proactive measures to ensure reliable power supply across Southern Odisha,” said Amit Garg, CEO of TPSODL.
