Reaffirming its deep-rooted commitment to holistic well-being, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, marked the 11th International Day of Yoga with large-scale celebrations across its operational sites in Odisha and beyond. Under the global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the company brought together over 1,000 employees, students, and community members in a series of immersive yoga sessions, promoting physical vitality, mental peace, and community harmony.
At Jharsuguda, the celebrations took center stage with two vibrant events at Sarbahal High School and the Vedanta Meadows township. Guided by expert trainers from Patanjali Yog Peeth, Brajrajnagar, students at Sarbahal embraced the ancient practice of yoga with enthusiasm. Meanwhile, employees and their families at the township experienced the rejuvenating benefits of yoga and mindfulness, reinforcing the company’s commitment to cultivating a culture of collective wellness.
In Lanjigarh, more than 300 participants — including employees, business partners, and community members — united in a spirited celebration of health and harmony. The session not only encouraged physical and mental resilience but also showcased Vedanta’s unwavering focus on fostering a holistic approach to well-being across its operations.
At Sijimali, employee volunteers led yoga sessions for over 200 students from local government schools, igniting a sense of health consciousness among young minds. Similarly, Ghogharpalli Coal Mines celebrated the day with 170 students and teachers from Government Upper Primary Schools in Mundherkhet and Bhograkachar, emphasizing yoga’s role in building concentration, discipline, and emotional strength in children.
Kuraloi Coal Mines hosted a special community yoga event, drawing over 140 participants from surrounding villages. The event was graced by Sanatan Nayak, Sarpanch of the local panchayat, and served as an engaging platform to introduce traditional wellness practices to the rural community.
At Jamkhani Coal Mines, the observance extended into a three-day wellness campaign aligned with the Ministry of Coal’s guidelines. Beginning with awareness drives and a wellness bootcamp, the celebration culminated in a well-attended yoga session with over 50 employees and business partners actively participating.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Kumar, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, remarked, “At Vedanta Aluminium, we believe that true progress is rooted in the well-being of our people and the communities we are a part of.
