In a remarkable blend of creativity and environmental consciousness, Vedanta Lanjigarh — a key unit of Vedanta Aluminium and a frontrunner in smelter-grade alumina production — recently organised a unique scrap art sculpture competition. The event celebrated the power of innovation, teamwork, and sustainable thinking by inviting employee-led teams, along with business partners, to reimagine industrial scrap as captivating art installations.
The spirited contest saw teams, each headed by departmental leaders, transforming discarded materials into thought-provoking sculptures that now enrich the workplace environment. These artistic expressions embodied Vedanta’s core ethos of resource optimisation and creative reuse, reinforcing the company’s sustainability-first approach.
Pranab Bhattacharya, CEO – Vedanta Alumina Business, Lanjigarh, said, “At Vedanta, we believe that true innovation thrives when our people are empowered to think differently. This initiative not only brought our teams together but also sparked a culture of imaginative problem-solving and sustainable thinking. We are proud to nurture a workplace where creativity is celebrated and every individual has the freedom to contribute in unique, impactful ways.”
Beyond artistic expression, the initiative fostered strong inter-departmental collaboration and highlighted the potential of waste-to-wealth practices. It also reaffirmed Vedanta Aluminium’s ongoing dedication to building a forward-looking, inclusive, and sustainability-driven workplace.
