“Yoga energizes body and mind, enhances well-being”, says RED Rao as NTPC North celebrates International Yoga Day

“Starting the day with yoga not only energizes the body and mind but also enhances overall well-being. It is a universally accepted discipline that can be customized as per one’s age and flexibility,” said N S Rao, Regional Executive Director (North), as NTPC Northern Region Headquarters in Lucknow celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great fervour and unity of purpose.

The event, themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” drew wide participation from NTPC officials, staff members, and their families. The celebration witnessed the gracious presence of Vijaya Rao, President of Uttara Club; Samiran Sinha Ray, Regional Head (HR); Heads of Departments; and senior executives, all joining hands to promote physical, mental, and emotional wellness through yoga.

A key highlight of the day was the guided yoga session led by RED (North), N S Rao himself, under the expert instruction of Yoga Guru Jay Prakash Dubey. The session adhered to the Common Yoga Protocol and served as an inspiring reminder of the transformative potential of consistent yoga practice.

In his address to the gathering, Rao lauded the global recognition yoga has received, attributing its rising popularity to the sustained efforts of the Hon’ble Prime Minister. He emphasized that yoga offers a preventive approach to modern-day health challenges and can be a powerful daily ritual to combat stress and lifestyle-related disorders.

Appreciating the enthusiastic turnout and active participation of employees, Rao commended the HR Department for seamlessly organizing the wellness initiative. The celebration stood as a testament to NTPC’s enduring commitment to fostering a healthy and mindful workplace culture through meaningful employee engagement and holistic well-being initiatives.
