In a significant boost to Odisha’s industrial and infrastructure landscape, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, will visit Bhubaneswar on November 1, 2025, to participate in a series of high-impact programmes.
A major highlight of the visit will be the ground-breaking ceremony of the SiCSem (Semiconductor Fabrication Unit) at Info Valley, Bhubaneswar. The project marks a crucial stride in strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem and aligns with the national vision of “Make in India” and “Digital India.” The SiCSem facility is expected to position Odisha as an emerging hub for advanced electronics manufacturing, contributing to the country’s self-reliance in semiconductor technology.
During his visit, Vaishnaw will also witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Railways and the Government of Odisha at Lok Seva Bhawan. The MoU seeks to deepen collaboration for enhancing railway infrastructure and improving connectivity across the state, thereby catalysing economic growth and regional development.
Later in the day, the Minister will visit Bhubaneswar Railway Station to review the ongoing redevelopment and modernization works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which aims to transform railway stations into world-class facilities with improved passenger amenities and sustainable design.
The Minister’s visit underscores the Government’s commitment to accelerating industrial progress, modernizing infrastructure, and fostering economic opportunities in Odisha — setting the stage for a new chapter of growth and innovation in the state.
