In a powerful testament to resilience and quality education, students from Gram Vikas’ four residential schools have delivered outstanding results in the 2024-25 Class 10 board examinations. Out of 159 students who appeared from Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kalahandi districts, an impressive 91 scored above 60 per cent, and three of the schools recorded a perfect 100 per cent pass rate.
Marking a historic milestone, Kiran Kumar Mandal of Gram Vikas High School, Kankia, etched his name in the institution’s 24-year history as the first student to score above 90 per cent, securing an outstanding 91.66 per cent. A first-generation learner from Gajapati district, Kiran’s journey is one of grit and determination, backed by the steadfast support of his teachers.
Other remarkable students also brought pride to their schools and communities. Srikanta Sabara, who scored 85 per cent, hails from a remote forest village and demonstrated tremendous perseverance to succeed. Rajesh Kumar Sabar secured an impressive 88.5 per cent, emerging as the Rayagada block topper from Mahendra Tanaya Ashram High School. Suhasmita Bhuyan, who scored 87.3 per cent, overcame the profound challenge of early personal loss to excel in her studies. Additionally, Kumkum Nayak topped Gram Vikas Shikshya Niketan, Kumudabahal, with a strong score of 79 per cent.
These outstanding performances are more than academic milestones — they are stories of transformation powered by opportunity and support. They underscore the critical role of Gram Vikas Residential Schools in nurturing academic excellence, character, and holistic development among children from marginalised communities.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the students, their families, and the dedicated educators who continue to build pathways to brighter futures, one success story at a time,” Gram Vikas said in a statement.
