India’s ace gymnast Pranati Nayak added another feather to her cap by winning the bronze medal in the women’s vault at the 2025 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, held at the Jecheon Gymnasium in South Korea. The 30-year-old athlete delivered a commendable performance, scoring 13.466 to secure third place, finishing behind China’s Yihan Zhang and Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu.

With this latest achievement, Nayak has now become India’s most decorated gymnast in the history of the Asian Championships, surpassing the legendary Deepa Karmakar’s record. This is Nayak’s third continental medal in vault, following her bronze wins in Ulaanbaatar (2019) and Doha (2022).

Fellow Indian gymnast Protistha Samanta also put up a spirited show, narrowly missing out on the podium with a score of 13.016, placing her fourth in the final standings.

Nayak has been in remarkable form this season. Earlier in March, she clinched a bronze medal in the Vault Final at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup in Antalya, Turkey, further underlining her consistency on the international stage.
