Odisha’s rising para judo star, Mohan Sahu, has brought laurels to the state by securing two bronze medals at the 13th National Para Judo Championship 2025. Representing Odisha, the talented athlete from the tribal-dominated Kalahandi district showcased his prowess in the Junior JI (66 kg) and Senior JI (64 kg) categories.
Sahu’s achievement has been made possible with the unwavering support of Vedanta Aluminium, whose commitment to fostering sports talent continues to yield remarkable results. With his sights now set on the prestigious Asian Para Judo Championship 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Sahu is determined to elevate his performance on the international stage.
Expressing his gratitude, an elated Mohan Sahu said, “I’m immensely grateful to Vedanta Aluminium for their support that has given me the confidence to compete at the highest levels. Their encouragement and assistance have been invaluable in my journey as a para athlete. I’ll strive to make my country and supporters proud.”

Vedanta Aluminium’s Mines Team has played a pivotal role in supporting Mohan Sahu’s journey, providing him with essential equipment and financial aid for his participation in the national event held in Lucknow. With the right resources and training, he competed alongside India’s top para athletes, proving his mettle on a national platform.
This is not the first time Vedanta Aluminium has stepped forward to support promising sports talent. Previously, the company extended its assistance to two Kabaddi players from Odisha’s Rayagada district, enabling them to represent India at the International Kabaddi Tournament in Nepal.
