Adani Power Limited, a key player in India’s energy sector and part of the diversified Adani Group, reported a robust financial and operational performance for the financial year 2024-25 (FY25), marking several milestones amid a dynamic market environment.
The company posted a 21.4% increase in consolidated continuing profit before tax (PBT), which rose to Rs 13,926 crore in FY25 from Rs 11,470 crore in FY24. This growth was driven by improved EBITDA and lower finance costs, signaling strong operational efficiencies and prudent financial management.
Adani Power’s consolidated continuing total revenue grew by 10.8% year-on-year to Rs 56,473 crore, compared to Rs 50,960 crore in the previous fiscal. The increase was fueled by higher sales volumes, partially offset by lower tariff realisation. Excluding one-time prior period income recognition, continuing EBITDA rose by 14.8% to Rs 21,575 crore, showcasing the company’s solid core performance.
For the fourth quarter of FY25, Adani Power reported a 5.3% increase in consolidated continuing revenue, which reached Rs 14,522 crore, up from Rs 13,787 crore in Q4 FY24. While consolidated continuing PBT for the quarter stood at Rs 3,248 crore, slightly lower than Rs 3,464 crore a year earlier due to higher depreciation from new acquisitions and sluggish merchant tariff trends, the performance remained strong on a year-on-year basis.
The profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter was Rs 2,599.23 crore, moderated by the absence of exceptional items such as government refunds and asset sales, which had boosted the previous year’s figures.
In a significant achievement, Adani Power generated a record 102.2 billion units (BU) of electricity in FY25 — a 19.5% jump from 85.5 BU in FY24. The company’s consolidated power sales volume increased by 20.7% to 95.9 BU, compared to 79.4 BU the previous year, reflecting strong power demand and enhanced operating capacity.
During Q4 FY25 alone, the company sold 26.4 BU of power, an 18.9% rise from 22.2 BU in Q4 FY24.
The company’s operating capacity rose from 15,250 MW in FY24 to 17,550 MW in FY25, owing to strategic acquisitions, including Moxie Power Generation Ltd (1,200 MW), Korba Power Limited (600 MW), and Adani Dahanu Thermal Power Station (500 MW).
