“Paradip Port’s achievements are a testament to the collective strength and unwavering dedication of every stakeholder,” said P.L. Haranadh, Chairman of Paradip Port Authority (PPA), as he opened the Annual Awards Nite 2025 and Stakeholders’ Meet, held on Friday at the private hotel in Bhubaneswar. The grand evening celebrated the port’s exceptional accomplishments and honoured the individuals and partners who have contributed to its ongoing success story.

Marking a momentous year, Haranadh announced that Paradip Port had achieved a cargo throughput of 150.41 million metric tonnes (MMT) in FY 2024–25, joining the elite 150 MMT Club. Despite global market challenges and declining export demand in sectors like iron ore and coking coal, Paradip Port not only maintained its top rank but emerged as the No.1 Cargo Handling Port among all Indian Major Ports for the second consecutive year.

The evening brought together a distinguished gathering of stakeholders from across the maritime ecosystem — exporters, importers, stevedores, shipping agents, customs, railways, PPP operators, unions, and state government officials — to celebrate their shared success.

Looking to the future, the Chairman highlighted a series of transformative projects, including the Western Dock project, set to allow Paradip to handle fully laden cape vessels by 2026. This development will push the port’s total capacity beyond 300 MMT. By 2030, Paradip aims for 100% berth mechanization, a leap that will further establish it as a frontrunner in port infrastructure.

In alignment with India’s green energy vision, Haranadh also announced the port’s strategic move to become a national hub for green hydrogen and ammonia, complete with a dedicated berth — a significant step toward sustainable port operations.

Haranadh expressed heartfelt gratitude to all officers, employees, unions, and partners, underscoring the port’s role as a vital engine of regional and national economic growth. “Our journey has just begun,” he said. “With innovation, resilience, and collaboration, Paradip Port is poised to set new benchmarks in global maritime excellence.”

The Awards Night was not just a celebration of past achievements but a beacon of the port’s ambitious future. The event concluded on a note of pride and promise, with Nilabhra Dasgupta, Deputy Chairman, PPA, delivering a heartfelt vote of thanks, encapsulating the spirit of unity and vision that defines Paradip Port’s legacy.
