The Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club of NTPC Bongaigaon celebrated its Annual Day in conjunction with Bal Bhawan at the township premises, featuring a vibrant cultural program themed “ऋतु का त्योहार” (Festival of Seasons). More than a festive gathering, the event underscored the Club’s deepening role in community engagement, creative empowerment, and social awareness across the NTPC Bongaigaon ecosystem.

The celebration was graced by Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, who attended as Chief Guest. Also present were Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club; Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M); and Soumya Kar, Vice President of the Club. The event drew a large audience including departmental heads, officers, employees, and their families.

Organised by the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club with enthusiastic support from women employees of NTPC Bongaigaon, the event commenced with interactive games and a traditional welcome ceremony. The evening unfolded with a rich lineup of performances — a soulful tribute to the legendary Lata Mangeshkar, an enchanting depiction of “Krishna Lila,” and a profound thematic presentation titled “Pancha Tatwa,” where children creatively portrayed the five elements of nature.

In her welcome address, Club President Kasturi Maitra emphasized the Club’s inclusive ethos and its ongoing commitment to promoting harmony, learning, and well-being within and beyond the township. Treasurer Smt. Amrita Singh presented the Annual Report, detailing the year’s accomplishments in welfare activities, skill development initiatives, and outreach efforts.

A major highlight of the celebration was the “ऋतु का त्योहार” segment, which vividly showcased the Indian seasons through a tapestry of colorful visuals, storytelling, and thematic performances. In his keynote address, Shri Arnab Maitra lauded the Club not only for its artistic excellence but also for its increasing impact on society. He highlighted the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club as a dynamic force for positive transformation within the NTPC township and neighboring areas — whether in promoting women’s empowerment, education, health awareness, or community service. He remarked that such platforms transcend cultural expression, serving as a testament to NTPC Bongaigaon’s active social conscience. Maitra urged continued collaboration among employees and their families to sustain and strengthen this momentum for meaningful change.

The evening concluded with a prize distribution ceremony and a heartfelt vote of thanks, wrapping up the celebration with a sense of joy, inspiration, and collective pride. By seamlessly blending culture with purpose, the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club continues to stand as a vital contributor to NTPC’s vision of inclusive and responsible development.
