In a significant push towards financial inclusion and digital empowerment, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has launched a transformative digital payment initiative in partnership with the State Bank of India (SBI) and Razorpay.

Unveiled at TPCODL’s corporate office in Bhubaneswar, the initiative was inaugurated by Arvind Singh, CEO of TPCODL, and Sushanta Kumar Das, Deputy General Manager (Digital & Transaction Banking) at SBI. The collaborative platform is designed to simplify electricity bill payments, especially for customers in rural and semi-urban areas who have limited familiarity with digital tools.

With the aim of achieving 80% digital payment transactions by August 2025, the initiative seeks to minimize reliance on cash, enhance transparency, and provide customers with secure and user-friendly options. The system integrates seamless interfaces supported by SBI and Razorpay, enabling users to make payments confidently and conveniently from any location.

“Our aim is to make digital payments accessible to everyone, especially in rural and semi-urban areas,” said Arvind Singh, CEO of TPCODL. “By leveraging trusted platforms like SBI and Razorpay, we are ensuring that our customers have safe, simple, and secure options to pay their bills digitally,” he added.

This customer-centric solution marks a significant step forward in TPCODL’s ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide and promote a cashless economy. It reflects the company’s broader commitment to innovation, accessibility, and inclusive growth across its operational footprint in Odisha.
