In a strong push towards public health improvement and community welfare, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has committed ₹2.41 crore to provide nutritional support to tuberculosis (TB) patients in Jharsuguda district under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The initiative, part of MCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, will ensure the supply of 2,440 nutritional food baskets every month for one year. Designed to benefit both TB patients and their families, these food baskets aim to strengthen immunity, enhance recovery, and improve treatment outcomes through better nutrition.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalising the partnership was signed between Ainul Huda, Deputy Manager (CSR) of MCL, and Mahesh Mohan Panda, Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer, Jharsuguda.

MCL reiterated its unwavering commitment to driving impactful and sustainable CSR interventions, particularly in the field of healthcare. The company also acknowledged the vital role of the Jharsuguda District Administration in facilitating the implementation of this critical health project.

By aligning with the national vision of a TB-free India, MCL’s intervention underscores the pivotal role of industry in addressing pressing public health challenges while uplifting communities.
