In a meaningful step towards inclusion and empowerment, NTPC–Northern Region Headquarters (NRHQ), through its Uttara Club, organised a special outreach programme at Sparsh Rajkiya Drishtibadhit Balika Inter College in Lucknow, focusing on the welfare of visually challenged adolescent girls.
The initiative, led by Uttara Club President Bipasa Deb, combined practical support with awareness-building, aiming to enhance menstrual hygiene and sanitation for the students. NTPC donated two sanitary napkin vending and disposal machines along with a water purifier, addressing both health and dignity needs. Additionally, 100 visually challenged girls received personal care kits.
The event turned into a celebration of talent and resilience as students presented soulful songs and poetry recitals, inspiring the audience and reinforcing the spirit of the occasion. Distinguished guests included Shashank Singh, District Officer, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Lucknow; Sangita Singha Ray; members of Uttara Club; and officials from NTPC’s HR team.
This CSR effort reflects Uttara Club’s ongoing mission to promote hygiene, dignity, and equality for girls, while reaffirming NTPC’s broader commitment to creating opportunities and fostering inclusion for persons with disabilities.
