Star Air launches direct flight service between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda

Odisha’s air connectivity received a significant boost on Saturday with the launch of direct flights between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda by Star Air. The first flight on this newly introduced route took off from Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, marking a significant step towards strengthening intra-state travel and convenience for passengers.

The service is expected to provide travelers with a faster and more efficient alternative to the lengthy road and rail journeys, thereby reducing travel time substantially between Bhubaneswar, the state capital, and Jharsuguda, a prominent industrial hub in western Odisha. With this, Star Air aims to play a pivotal role in promoting trade, tourism, and overall connectivity across the region.

According to the schedule, Flight S5 605 will operate from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar at 7:20 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, reaching its destination at 8:05 PM. The return flight, S5 606, will depart Bhubaneswar at 8:30 PM and land in Jharsuguda at 9:15 PM on the same days. Additionally, a mid-day service will operate on Wednesdays, with S5 605 leaving Jharsuguda at 11:45 AM and arriving in Bhubaneswar at 12:30 PM, followed by the return flight S5 606 departing at 1:00 PM and touching down in Jharsuguda at 1:45 PM.

The launch of this route forms part of Star Air’s larger expansion strategy in Odisha, underlining the airline’s commitment to advancing regional air connectivity and catering to the growing demand for faster, seamless travel options within the state.
