Over 650 educators benefit from capacity-building initiative in Lakhanpur block

Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, has reinforced its commitment to grassroots education by hosting a block-level, one-day teachers’ orientation program in collaboration with the Block Education Department at Mahima Degree College, Bijapali. The initiative, designed to strengthen pedagogical practices and promote educational excellence at the foundational level, brought together more than **650 elementary teachers from across Lakhanpur block.
The comprehensive program featured expert-led sessions covering lesson planning, classroom management, preparation of teaching-learning materials, disaster preparedness, first aid, and the effective integration of technology in classrooms. Teachers engaged in interactive discussions, gained hands-on training, and were felicitated with certificates upon completion of the program.
The event was graced by senior education officials, including Sashmita Sahu, Joint Director, OSEPA, and Amulya Kumar Padhan, Regional Director, DHSE, Sambalpur, alongside other dignitaries from the Education Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Kumar, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium, said: “Teachers are the backbone of education, and empowering them is key to nurturing future-ready students. Such programs are critical in equipping educators to deliver engaging learning experiences. By investing in their growth, we are strengthening the foundation of education and creating long-term impact in our communities.”
Echoing his views, Amulya Kumar Padhan, Regional Director, DHSE, Sambalpur, remarked: “This initiative by Vedanta Aluminium is a commendable step towards improving the quality of education in rural Odisha. Collaborations of this nature are vital for building an inclusive and robust education system.”
