Garuda Aerospace, India’s leading drone manufacturer, has deployed its technology to support the Indian Army in flood relief operations in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Over ten drones have been pressed into service, delivering more than 300 kilograms of essential supplies and conducting aerial surveys to assess damage, identify vulnerable areas, and streamline relief coordination.
In Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, two delivery drones have been transporting critical supplies — medicines, food, and water—to flood-hit areas cut off by landslides and road disruptions. Operating across narrow valleys and steep slopes, the drones have been crucial in ensuring timely assistance where conventional access remains nearly impossible.
In Jammu and Kashmir, ten “Jawan” drones have been deployed to Chilla village in Kathua district, where floods and landslides severed road connectivity. Working alongside the Indian Army and the Kathua District Administration, Garuda’s drones successfully delivered food, cooking oil, medicines, and other provisions to stranded families.
Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, said, “Garuda Aerospace has consistently supported disaster management efforts with drone technology. As a proud citizen of India, I am honoured to contribute during emergencies by deploying drones to deliver timely and effective relief. We remain committed to serving as first responders whenever the nation needs us.”
Garuda Aerospace has a proven track record of leveraging drones in crisis response. During the pandemic, its drones delivered medicines and vaccines to hospitals in partnership with Swiggy. In 2021, its White Knight drones supported ISRO by transporting essential medical supplies in Bengaluru. The company has also aided relief operations during the Chamoli glacier burst in Uttarakhand, locust control in Rajasthan, and floods in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Chennai. Most recently, in 2025, its consumer drone *Droni* assisted the NDRF during the Srisailam Left Bank Canal tunnel collapse in Telangana, providing real-time mapping and video feeds that were vital in locating trapped workers under hazardous conditions.
