TPNODL enhances electricity network with strategic transformer upgrades

TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has recently undertaken a significant infrastructure upgrade by installing high-capacity transformers across its operational areas to ensure a more reliable and quality power supply for its consumers.

As part of its ongoing commitment to infrastructure development, TPNODL has upgraded transformers in several key locations throughout the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Jajpur, aligning with local demand and consumer needs. In Keonjhar district, the 63 kVA transformer at the Hatadihi-Salania Market has been upgraded to a 100 kVA transformer, while the transformer supplying power to Padampur Medical in the Joda block has also been enhanced to a 100 kVA capacity to provide continuous and uninterrupted power.

In Balasore district, significant upgrades have been made as well. The transformer in the Chakasada area, under the Dehurda section of the Jaleswar division, has been increased to a 250 kVA capacity, while the 63 kVA transformer at Chandaneswar has been upgraded to a 100 kVA unit. Additionally, the transformer in the Sutei-Badagaon area has also been enhanced to a 250 kVA capacity.

In Bhadrak district, notable improvements have been carried out, with two 100 kVA transformers in the Tehsil section being upgraded to 250 kVA units. Meanwhile, in Jajpur district, the 100 kVA transformer at Bagaria village, under the Panikoili section, has been boosted to 250 kVA.

These upgrades are expected to significantly resolve long-standing low voltage issues, bringing much-needed relief to consumers across these regions. In addition to enhancing transformer capacities, TPNODL is also strengthening safety measures by replacing old fencing with robust new boundary walls around the transformers. The company has also ramped up its efforts on routine inspection and monitoring, ensuring that all transformers meet the highest standards of service reliability and safety.
