Vedanta’s flagship social impact initiative, Nand Ghar, is celebrating Poshan Maah 2025 with a month-long nationwide campaign themed “Poshan Se Pragati”. In partnership with the Department of Women and Child Development, the initiative is reaching over 3.5 lakh families across 15 states, spreading awareness on nutrition, health, and sustainable dietary practices in some of India’s most remote communities.

Nand Ghar, which is modernizing Anganwadis into dynamic centres of learning and development, is driving holistic interventions in nutrition, early childhood education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment. The Poshan Maah campaign is designed to combat malnutrition by combining direct nutrition support, community sensitization, and technology-enabled solutions. Children enrolled at Nand Ghars benefit from fortified supplements, Nutri Bars, and Protein Shakes, while parents receive training, counselling, and tools for monitoring child growth using locally sourced foods and indigenous recipes.

Throughout the month, Nand Ghars across the country are being transformed into hubs of nutrition awareness. Activities include recipe demonstrations with nutrient-rich local ingredients, training sessions for parents on maternal and child health, and growth monitoring camps. Special engagements under the banner “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi” are also being held to highlight the strong link between good nutrition and better learning outcomes for children.

“Nutritional security is the cornerstone of national progress,” said Shashi Arora, CEO of Nand Ghar. “Through this campaign, we are turning awareness into action, ensuring that every child and mother in rural India has access to the right nutrition and knowledge to build a healthier future.”

The initiative comes at a critical time. As per the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), 37.5% of children under six years are stunted and half of women of reproductive age are anaemic. By mobilizing grassroots communities, Nand Ghar aims to contribute meaningfully to reversing these trends and advancing India’s vision of a healthier, more resilient generation.

Nand Ghar’s nutrition model has already shown measurable success. During Poshan Maah 2024, over one lakh millet shakes were served across six states, improving children’s energy and school attendance. In Rajasthan, the Balvardhan Project is currently benefitting 80,000 children and mothers through targeted interventions. Community-led PD Hearth sessions are also empowering mothers with practical skills to prepare affordable, nutritious meals while building peer support networks.

With over 9,000 Nand Ghars operational across 15 states, the initiative already supports 3.6 lakh children and 2.7 lakh women. Backed by the Anil Agarwal Foundation, it aims to eventually impact 7 crore children and 2 crore women across India’s 13.7 lakh Anganwadis, transforming grassroots nutrition, education, and healthcare delivery.
