JSW Steel’s Narayanposhi Iron & Manganese Ore Mines has been honoured with the CII SHE Excellence Award at the 19th Safety Symposium & Exposition, hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region in Kolkata.
The mines were recognized as the 2nd Runner-Up at the State level and also received a Certificate of Appreciation at the Regional level in the Mining Sector category. The recognition followed a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process comprising document reviews, on-site inspections, and a final jury presentation.
The award was received by Tapan Kumar Rath, Manager, Narayanposhi Mines, and Suresh Mohapatra, Associate Vice President – Environment, Health & Safety, along with their team.
The 2023 SHE Excellence Awards celebrate organizations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to safety, health, and environment (SHE) management. Narayanposhi Mines stood out for its innovative safety practices, robust sustainability measures, and its efforts in nurturing a safe, environmentally responsible work culture — aligning with the award’s vision of transformative leadership in workplace safety and operational excellence.
This recognition reaffirms JSW Steel’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship, positioning Narayanposhi Mines as a benchmark for sustainable mining practices and a driver of positive change in the industry.
