NALCO conclave focuses on new age HR practices

In a significant move towards redefining human resource management, National Aluminium Company Ltd. (NALCO), a Navratna CPSE, hosted its inaugural HR Conclave, “Nav-Drishti,” on Tuesday. The event, themed “People First, Future Forward,” attracted leading professionals and academicians from the Mining, Coal, Petroleum, and Metals sectors to deliberate on innovative, future-ready approaches to talent management and organizational growth.

The conclave was inaugurated by NALCO’s Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Brijendra Pratap Singh, in the presence of key leaders including NALCO Director (Production) Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Director (HR) Tapas Kumar Pattanayak, Director (Finance) Abhay Kumar Behuria, and Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Pranabjyoti Nath.

Distinguished guest speakers included Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel) at SAIL, Bijay Kumar Sahoo, Group President – Strategic HR at Reliance Industries, and Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, former Director (HR) at IOCL. They shared invaluable insights on the evolving role of HR strategies in adapting to the changing dynamics of the industry and aligning people management with long-term organizational goals.

The conclave showcased a series of thought-provoking presentations from industry giants like IOCL, SAIL, Tata Steel, NTPC, Coal India Ltd, and Reliance Industries, who have been at the forefront of pioneering HR practices. These organizations emphasized the importance of a “People First” approach, which not only focuses on employee well-being but also drives future organizational success. Knowledge partners for the conclave, including Ernst & Young, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), also contributed with forward-looking discussions on the evolving trends in people management.

The event saw the participation of senior officials and executives from NALCO, alongside HR professionals from various core sectors. Attendees engaged in meaningful deliberations on the diverse HR practices currently shaping the industry and explored new frameworks for creating agile, resilient, and future-ready organizations.

By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, the conclave aimed to empower companies to build sustainable, people-centric work cultures that are essential for navigating the complexities of the modern business environment.
