Vedanta Aluminium celebrates Dussehra with employees and communities

Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, celebrated Dussehra with grandeur across its operations in Odisha — spanning Jharsuguda, Lanjigarh, and its mining locations. The festivities brought together thousands of employees, their families, and local community members, reflecting the company’s deep-rooted commitment to cultural heritage, social empowerment, and community well-being.

Adding a meaningful dimension to the celebrations, Vedanta Aluminium distributed specially curated ‘Shakti Kits’ focusing on health, hygiene, and nutrition to over 1,500 women across nine villages surrounding its Lanjigarh operations. The initiative symbolised the strength and resilience of women as the embodiment of Shakti, aligning the spirit of the festival with social responsibility.

The Navratri and Durga Puja festivities were marked by cultural programmes that showcased a rich confluence of classical, folk, and regional art forms — including Odissi, Bharatnatyam, Ghumura, Garba, and Kuchipudi. The celebrations also featured vibrant performances like *Ramleela* and the devotional ‘Dhunuchi’ dance by women employees. Local vendors and Women Self-Help Groups participated through festive bazaars, underscoring the company’s support for community entrepreneurship and local livelihoods. The festivities culminated with grand ‘Ravan Dahan’ events at both locations, symbolising the victory of good over evil and bringing everyone together in the spirit of joy and harmony.
