In a resounding affirmation of its commitment to sustainable development, Hindalco Industries Limited, a flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, has secured top honours at the prestigious ESG Awards 2025, jointly presented by the International Bauxite, Alumina & Aluminium Society (IBAAS) and CETIZION Verifica.
Hindalco’s Aditya Aluminium unit at Lapanga clinched the coveted ‘Gold Award’, while the Hirakud Power & Smelter Unit received the ‘Silver Award’ for outstanding performance in sustainability and operational excellence. These accolades underscore the company’s leadership in implementing cutting-edge environmental practices, energy efficiency measures, and community-driven social initiatives.
The awards were conferred at a special ceremony held in Bhubaneswar, where prominent dignitaries from the global aluminium and sustainability sectors gathered. Representing Hindalco, Jagannath Prasad Nayak, Unit Head – Aditya Aluminium; Pratap Sahu, Vice President; Soubhagya Tripathy, Assistant Vice President; and Ranjan Jena, GM – Environment, received the honours from Mark Annandale, Director of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI).
The ceremony was graced by key industry figures including Dr. Ashok Nandi, President of IBAAS; Catherine Johnson, Independent Consultant; Pradip Ranjan Choudhury, former Executive Director of NALCO; and Gangaa C Sharma, Managing Director & CEO of CETIZION Verifica Pvt. Ltd.
Both Aditya Aluminium and Hirakud Power & Smelter have set industry benchmarks through their unwavering dedication to sustainable manufacturing, responsible resource management, and grassroots-level social empowerment.
