Reliance and Google forge strategic alliance to propel India’s AI transformation

In a landmark move to catalyse India’s artificial intelligence revolution, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), through its subsidiary Reliance Intelligence Limited, has entered into an expansive strategic partnership with Google. The collaboration aims to democratize access to cutting-edge AI tools and accelerate innovation across consumers, enterprises, and developers — marking a significant leap toward Reliance’s “AI for All” vision.

The partnership unites Reliance’s unmatched scale, connectivity, and digital ecosystem with Google’s world-leading AI capabilities. Together, the two technology powerhouses seek to strengthen India’s AI backbone, empower citizens with intelligent tools, and position the nation as a global hub for AI-driven growth.

Under the collaboration, Google will roll out the Google AI Pro plan — featuring the latest Gemini suite — exclusively for Jio users, free of charge for 18 months. Valued at ₹35,100, the offer includes access to Google’s most advanced Gemini 2.5 Pro model within the Gemini app, extended limits for generating high-quality images and videos via Nano Banana and Veo 3.1 models, expanded Notebook LM capabilities for study and research, and 2 TB of cloud storage.

Eligible Jio customers can activate this premium AI experience through the MyJio app. The initiative will first be available to users aged 18 to 25 with unlimited 5G plans, before being extended to Jio’s entire customer base nationwide. The partnership also envisions creating localized AI-powered experiences that reflect India’s cultural and linguistic diversity, ensuring inclusivity in the nation’s AI journey.

Reinforcing its commitment to building India’s AI infrastructure, Reliance also announced a partnership with Google Cloud to enhance access to Google’s high-performance AI hardware accelerators — Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). These advanced AI chips will enable Indian enterprises and institutions to train and deploy large, complex AI models efficiently while achieving faster inference speeds. This initiative aligns with Reliance’s plan to develop clean-energy-powered, multi-gigawatt, sovereign compute capabilities — a key step in fortifying India’s AI sovereignty.

The deployment of Google’s AI accelerators across Reliance’s digital ecosystem is expected to empower developers, startups, and research organizations to push the boundaries of AI innovation, helping realize the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of making India a global AI powerhouse.

In addition, the partnership establishes Reliance Intelligence as a key go-to-market partner for Google Cloud in India, tasked with driving adoption of Gemini Enterprise, Google’s next-generation unified agentic AI platform for businesses. Gemini Enterprise integrates AI seamlessly across workflows, enabling employees to discover, create, share, and deploy AI agents securely and intuitively. Reliance Intelligence will not only promote the platform but also develop its own suite of pre-built enterprise AI agents, enriching the ecosystem with a wide range of Google-built and third-party solutions.
