Reaffirming India’s central place in Amway’s global growth vision, President and CEO Michael Nelson declared that “India has Amway’s heart” as he announced a fresh ₹100 crore (USD 12 million) investment to accelerate Amway India’s transformation over the next three to five years. The announcement came during Nelson’s maiden visit to India since taking charge as global CEO — an occasion that also marked a decade of Amway’s local manufacturing journey, underscoring India’s strategic importance as one of only three global manufacturing hubs for the company, alongside the United States and China.
“India stands at the very core of Amway’s global vision. It is a powerhouse of potential, driven by a digitally empowered population, a dynamic young workforce, and a thriving entrepreneurial spirit,” said Nelson. “As we celebrate ten years of local manufacturing, we are proud of what we have built and even more inspired by the extraordinary opportunities that lie ahead. India’s vibrancy, diversity, and energy perfectly align with Amway’s purpose of helping people live better lives through economic empowerment and wellbeing.”
The new investment aims to strengthen Amway Business Owner and distributor capabilities, enhance customer experiences, and expand the company’s physical footprint across India. Amway plans to transform its stores into modern engagement hubs featuring redesigned layouts, dedicated training zones, and improved service experiences. The company will also launch structured learning and certification programs to boost distributor expertise in product knowledge, quality assurance, and customer engagement—laying the foundation for a stronger, future-ready direct-selling ecosystem.
Rajneesh Chopra, Managing Director, Amway India, said the renewed commitment reflects the company’s alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. “As India moves toward becoming a developed nation, Amway is proud to contribute to this transformative journey by investing in innovation, entrepreneurship, and wellbeing. Our purpose goes beyond business—it’s about empowering people, building consumer trust, and supporting self-reliance through science-backed solutions and holistic health initiatives,” Chopra noted.
With 27 years of presence in India and a decade of manufacturing excellence, Amway continues to strengthen its foundation through sustained investments in research, digital innovation, and local capability building. Its state-of-the-art facility in Tamil Nadu, a hallmark of the “Make in India” initiative, has been instrumental in job creation, skill development, and export growth.
Looking ahead, Amway aims to empower up to five million lives across India over the next five years through its health, wellness, and entrepreneurship initiatives. As the company turns the page on a successful decade of local manufacturing, it begins a new chapter — one that reaffirms Amway’s belief that India is not just a market of promise, but truly, the heart of its global future.
