Centurion University partners with MarqueeSemi and SignatureIP to establish Centre of Excellence for Scalable Silicon Systems

Pioneering step to empower India’s semiconductor ecosystem through innovation and hands-on learning

In a major stride towards strengthening India’s semiconductor innovation landscape, Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with MarqueeSemi and SignatureIP to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Scalable Silicon Systems, along with an Innovation and Product Incubation Program.

The collaboration marks a strategic milestone in advancing semiconductor education and research in India. The CoE aims to provide students, researchers, and startups access to cutting-edge resources in VLSI design, SoC development, chiplet-based architectures, and IP innovation — nurturing a new generation of chip designers and system engineers.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Supriya Pattanayak, Vice Chancellor of Centurion University, said, “The establishment of this Centre of Excellence is a major step forward in fostering innovation-driven, industry-integrated education. Our partnership with MarqueeSemi and SignatureIP will empower students to meaningfully contribute to India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem and shape the future of chip design and innovation.”

Adding to this, Prof. D. N. Rao, Vice President of Centurion University, noted, “Our focus on experiential learning aligns perfectly with this initiative. The CoE and Innovation Lab will give students real-world exposure to the semiconductor industry through advanced tools, live projects, and mentorship from industry leaders.”

Umesh Mohanty, representing both MarqueeSemi and SignatureIP, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “Through this collaboration, we aim to create a strong foundation for VLSI education and scalable silicon design. Combining MarqueeSemi’s end-to-end silicon expertise with SignatureIP’s innovative IP solutions, we will cultivate skilled engineers who can strengthen India’s global semiconductor footprint.”

Aligned with the Government of India’s ‘Semicon India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ missions, the three-year partnership seeks to build a sustainable semiconductor talent pipeline, accelerate innovation, and position Odisha as a rising hub in the nation’s semiconductor revolution.
