NTPC Northern Region HQ organises BEE State-Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation

NTPC Northern Region Headquarters, Lucknow, organised the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) State-Level Painting Competition under the aegis of the Ministry of Power. The event was held on the theme “One Planet, One Chance – Save Energy: Energy Conservation, My Responsibility, Our Future.”

A total of 97 students from over 100 schools across Uttar Pradesh participated in the state-level competition. These young talents were shortlisted from nearly 400 entries received in two categories — Classes 5–7 and Classes 8–10. The participants presented insightful and imaginative artwork that underscored responsible energy consumption and the collective responsibility to protect the planet.

The event was graced by Bablu Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), Lucknow, as Chief Guest. Also present were Gyan Chandra, Retd. Additional Judge, and Deepa Tiwari, Deputy Director, State Council for Educational Research & Training, who served as judges.

Bablu Kumar praised the students for their creativity and awareness, describing the theme as both timely and essential. He lauded the quality of the artwork, befitting a competition of state-level prominence.

In his vote of thanks, Rahul Sharma, AGM (HR), expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, judges, teachers, parents, and participating students for their enthusiastic involvement. He congratulated the winners and acknowledged the teamwork and dedication that made the event a success.

Prizes were presented to winners in both categories, with the first prize carrying a cash award of ₹50,000, followed by ₹30,000 for the second prize and ₹20,000 for the third. In addition, selected participants received consolation prizes of ₹7,500 each, recognising their commendable effort and creativity.

The BEE State-Level Painting Competition is an important phase of the National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation. The winners from Uttar Pradesh will now advance to the national round, where they will be felicitated during the National Energy Conservation Day celebrations.
