Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, celebrated Children’s Day 2025 with wide-ranging, inclusive programmes that brought learning, joy, and inspiration to more than 9,000 children across Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh. The celebrations, marked by cultural events, sports, educational support, and creative engagement, highlighted the company’s unwavering commitment to nurturing confident, capable, and healthy young minds.

Aligned with its long-term CSR vision, Vedanta Aluminium continues to invest in the holistic development of children across its operational areas. Its interventions — from digital classrooms and advanced science labs to archery academies, skill schools, and well-equipped Nand Ghars — aim to equip children and youth with future-ready skills. The approach reflects Vedanta’s philosophy that sustainable community development begins with ensuring a nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and realise their potential.

Rajiv Kumar, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, said, “At Vedanta Aluminium, we believe that empowering children with knowledge, health, and confidence is the cornerstone of building a strong and self-reliant nation. Our Children’s Day celebrations reflect the same philosophy that drives our social interventions throughout the year, enabling access to quality education, fostering creativity, and creating opportunities for every child to thrive. We remain committed to nurturing the leaders and innovators of tomorrow through sustained community engagement.”

Across its sites, Vedanta Aluminium organised an array of engaging activities. In Jharsuguda, more than 5,000 students from 106 schools took part in Anand Nagri, a student-led entrepreneurship fair held in collaboration with the district administration. Schools also hosted two days of competitions and distributed sports materials to encourage holistic development. In Lanjigarh, over 500 children at local schools and Vedanta-run Nand Ghars received study materials and sports kits, participating in lively games and celebrations.

In Jamkhani, Ghogharpalli, and Kuraloi, the celebrations extended to 42 schools and 51 Anganwadi centres, engaging more than 2,850 children, teachers, and Anganwadi workers through cultural performances, fun activities, and distribution of school and hygiene kits. At BALCO in Chhattisgarh, Children’s Day was marked with colouring, storytelling, music, and games for over 800 children across 33 Nand Ghars, culminating in the distribution of nutritious refreshments. Meanwhile, at the Vizag General Cargo Berth in Andhra Pradesh, the company reached 151 children through educational gifts, cultural events, and a colourful fancy dress competition organised in partnership with NGOs and Anganwadis.

Together, these celebrations reflect Vedanta Aluminium’s belief that every child deserves the freedom to learn, grow, and dream. By integrating education, health, creativity, and community engagement, the company continues to build brighter and more inclusive futures for children across its areas of operation.
