PNB strengthens leadership core as Amit Kumar Srivastava takes charge as Executive Director

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has bolstered its top leadership with the appointment of Amit Kumar Srivastava as Executive Director on its Board. His appointment, notified by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance (eF.No.4/4(i)/2024-BO.I), came into effect on November 24, 2025, for a three-year tenure or until superannuation, whichever is earlier.

Srivastava brings to the role more than 31 years of extensive, multi-faceted banking experience. Over his long and distinguished career, he has served in key operational and strategic positions spanning Branch Banking, Treasury Management and Risk Management, equipping him with a comprehensive understanding of the financial services ecosystem.

Beginning his career in March 1994, Srivastava has held several critical leadership assignments, including Zonal Manager of PNB’s Jodhpur Zone. Before assuming his present role, he served as Chief General Manager of the Credit Review & Monitoring Department and as the Bank’s Group Chief Risk Officer, where he significantly strengthened PNB’s risk governance architecture. His efforts were instrumental in institutionalising robust frameworks and fostering a culture of prudent and proactive risk management across the organisation.

An alumnus of Banaras Hindu University, he holds an MSc degree along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Treasury and Forex Management from ICFAI. He is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and holds globally recognised qualifications such as the Sustainability and Climate Risk certification from GARP (USA), Professional Risk Manager, and Risk in Financial Services — underscoring his expertise in contemporary risk, sustainability and financial management practices.
