FACOR inspires young minds with immersive industrial visit for DAV SDPS students

Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd. (FACOR), a subsidiary of the Vedanta Group, hosted an enriching industrial exposure visit for 30 Class X students and three teachers from DAV SDPS Public School on Monday, offering them a first-hand look into modern manufacturing and industrial safety practices.

The visit began with a comprehensive safety induction session, where students were briefed on essential plant safety protocols before entering operational zones. Guided by FACOR’s technical team, the group then toured the Charge Chrome Plant (CCP) and the FACOR Power Plant, observing the complete ferrochrome production process—from raw material handling to the transformation of inputs into the final product.

As they moved across departments, students witnessed how large-scale industrial systems operate seamlessly through coordination, precision, and adherence to strict quality and safety standards. The initiative was designed to bridge classroom learning with practical industrial exposure, nurturing curiosity and helping students gain insights into potential career pathways in the metals and mining sector.

The visit concluded with an engaging interaction session led by FACOR’s leadership team, who briefed the students on the company’s values, technological advancements, sustainability efforts, and safety culture. Students enthusiastically participated, posing thoughtful questions and sharing their learnings from the immersive experience.
