Positioning itself at the heart of India’s rising strategic and economic ambitions, Bhubaneswar is set to host the landmark ‘Purvodaya Perspectives 2025’ conference on December 13–14. Organised by The Energy Forum (TEF), New Delhi, the two-day event will bring together a distinguished gathering of policymakers, diplomats, academics, and industry experts for high-level deliberations on strengthening India’s eastern corridor and deepening its ties with Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific.
The conference aims to spotlight the vital role of India’s eastern states in driving the country’s long-term economic growth and foreign policy outreach. With the Indo-Pacific emerging as a global centre of economic and geopolitical activity, Purvodaya Perspectives 2025 will examine strategies to enhance connectivity, modernize infrastructure, and integrate regional value chains that link eastern India with Southeast Asian markets.
Sessions will explore the full spectrum of opportunities under India’s Act East Policy, including expanding trade corridors, boosting maritime cooperation, and adopting emerging technologies to accelerate cross-border economic exchanges. By focusing on the blue economy, the conference will highlight prospects for sustainable ocean resource management, assess the impact of climate change, and delve into India’s evolving maritime partnerships with ASEAN and Bay of Bengal nations.
Port-led development will be a central theme as experts discuss port modernization, supply-chain integration, and the creation of seamless logistical networks that can position eastern India as a competitive gateway to the Indo-Pacific. Thought-provoking dialogues will also address maritime security, regional stability, and the need for collaborative frameworks amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.
One of the key sessions will trace India’s strategic transition from SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) to the more expansive MAHASAGAR (Maritime Growth for All in the Region) vision, reflecting New Delhi’s ambition to shape a more interconnected, resilient, and secure maritime neighbourhood.
Poised to serve as a catalyst for transformative ideas and partnerships, Purvodaya Perspectives 2025 is expected to reinforce India’s leadership in the Indo-Pacific while advancing sustainable and inclusive development across its eastern flank. As Bhubaneswar prepares to host this significant dialogue, the city once again emerges as a pivotal hub for shaping the nation’s regional and global outreach.
