Aditya Birla Group honoured as ‘Star Employer’ for driving job growth in Odisha

The Aditya Birla Group has been conferred the prestigious Employment Excellence Award by the Government of Odisha, being recognised as the “Star Employer” in the Conventional Industries category for its outstanding contribution to job creation in the State.

The honour underlines Aditya Birla Group’s pivotal role in strengthening Odisha’s industrial ecosystem while empowering its workforce, making it a leading contributor to the State’s economic development.

The award was presented by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at a state-level function in Bhubaneswar on Monday. Ardhendu Mohapatra, Head – Corporate Affairs, Aditya Birla, Odisha, received the felicitation on behalf of the Group. The ceremony was also attended by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg and Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Hemant Sharma, among other dignitaries.

8Over the past 15 months — between June 2024 and September 2025 — the Aditya Birla Group recruited 12,415 people across its various industries in Odisha. Of these, more than 9,480 were domiciles of the State, taking the share of Odia employees to an impressive 76 percent. Acknowledging this effort, the Government of Odisha expressed its gratitude to the Group for prioritising local candidates in employment.

To mark the recognition, around 35 newly recruited employees from different Aditya Birla industries in Odisha were present at the felicitation ceremony, symbolising the Group’s commitment to nurturing local talent and driving inclusive growth.

The honour underlines Aditya Birla Group’s pivotal role in strengthening Odisha’s industrial ecosystem while empowering its workforce, making it a leading contributor to the State’s economic development.
