E-commerce major Amazon India has strengthened its presence in Odisha with the launch of a new Fulfilment Centre in Bhubaneswar, ahead of the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 that begins on September 23. The investment, aimed at meeting surging festive demand, promises faster delivery speeds, wider product selection, and enhanced convenience for customers while boosting opportunities for local sellers and job seekers.

With the new Fulfilment Centre, Amazon’s operations network in Odisha now includes one Sortation Centre, more than 250 ‘I Have Space’ partner stores, and over 60 Delivery Stations. This expansion is enabling the company to serve more than 17,000 sellers from the state, while also creating hundreds of new jobs in the region. The improved infrastructure has translated into faster customer deliveries, with same-day shipments in Bhubaneswar growing by over 190 percent and next-day deliveries rising by more than 120 percent year-on-year. Overall, Amazon has doubled the volume of products delivered within the same day and the next day, setting a new benchmark in delivery efficiency for the state.

As Odisha gears up for the festive season, customers can look forward to shopping across a wide range of categories including smartphones, electronics, fashion, beauty, home essentials, and grocery, with many of these items now reaching them in record time. Amazon Prime members will enjoy additional benefits such as free and fast delivery, early access to deals, exclusive savings, and entertainment perks, with annual membership available at just ₹399.

Pallavi Singh, Senior Manager, Amazon Prime, said that Prime members in Odisha would gain 24-hour early access to the Amazon Great Indian Festival, beginning September 22. She added that the new Fulfilment Centre in Bhubaneswar has empowered Amazon to strengthen its delivery network in the state and enhance same-day and next-day speeds, ensuring that customers, especially Prime members, receive their favourite products faster than ever before.

Odisha has also emerged as one of the most dynamic markets for Amazon Pay, ranking among the top ten states in terms of digital transactions. Over the past six months, the state has recorded a growth rate more than 10 percent higher than the national average, with nearly one-fifth of all transactions taking place at offline merchants. Amazon Pay Later, the company’s credit facility, has gained notable traction in Odisha, placing the state among the key emerging markets for digital credit adoption.

Mayank Jain, Director – Credit & Lending, Amazon Pay, said that Amazon Pay is focused on making every festive purchase seamless and rewarding, offering customers secure one-click checkout, Pay Later options, flexible payment choices, and special bank offers. He noted that the partnership with ICICI Bank has strengthened India’s most adopted co-branded credit card, giving customers unlimited rewards and enhanced value across everyday purchases and travel bookings.

This year’s Amazon Great Indian Festival will feature deep discounts across popular categories, exclusive new product launches, AI-driven shopping experiences, and special deals from more than one million sellers, including small businesses and artisans associated with Amazon Launchpad, Local Shops, Karigar, and Saheli programs. Customers can expect offers on flagship products from brands such as Apple and Samsung, along with attractive deals across fashion, beauty, electronics, appliances, and home essentials.
