Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) has bowled over employees with the launch of the APSEZ Cricket Premier League 2025, a vibrant sporting initiative aimed at strengthening sportsmanship, camaraderie and teamwork across its vast operational network.
Designed as a unifying platform, the tournament is being held on a zone-wise format, encompassing the West, Central, South and East Zones. The East Zone has drawn particular enthusiasm, with five teams representing different APSEZ ports locking horns in a competitive yet celebratory atmosphere. Matches in this zone are being hosted at Krishnapatnam and Dhamra, adding regional flavour and excitement to the league.
The East Zone action at the Dhamra Cricket Ground began on a high note with an inaugural clash between Dhamra Port and Dhamra LNG, officially opened by APSEZ CEO Debendra Thakar. Batting first, Dhamra LNG posted a fighting total of 107 for 7 in 12 overs. Displaying confident stroke play and sharp running between the wickets, Dhamra Port chased down the target in style, reaching 109 runs in just 7.5 overs to clinch a convincing victory.
The competitive momentum continues on December 20, with Dhamra Port facing Gangavaram Port in the first match of the day, followed by an encounter between Gopalpur Port and Dhamra LNG.
Teams emerging from the East Zone will progress to the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and the Grand Final, scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad, where the best from across zones will vie for the coveted title.
Beyond the boundary lines, the APSEZ Cricket Premier League 2025 underscores the Group’s strong focus on employee engagement, well-being and unity, using sport as a powerful medium to foster collaboration and excellence. Significantly, this edition also marks the first-ever cricket tournament hosted at Dhamra Port, making it a milestone moment for the port and its workforce alike.
