Ashok Leyland, the Indian flagship of the Hinduja Group and one of the country’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has expanded its footprint in Odisha with the inauguration of a new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) dealership in Jajpur. This marks the company’s sixth LCV dealership in the state, underscoring its growing focus on strengthening customer connect and service reach in eastern India.
The new dealership, operated by Shantilata Company, is strategically located at Sunguda, Chandikhol, Jajpur, and features a state-of-the-art 3S facility (Sales, Service and Spares). It is equipped with advanced tools, quick service bays, and modern infrastructure designed to provide customers with a seamless ownership and service experience. A dedicated workshop has also been set up at the same location to ensure maximum convenience for customers.
Speaking at the inauguration, Viplav Shah, Head – LCV Business, Ashok Leyland Ltd., said, “Odisha has always been an important market for us, and we are delighted to strengthen our presence here with the new dealership in Jajpur. Ashok Leyland has built a strong LCV portfolio tailored to the evolving needs of Indian businesses. The product line includes BADA DOST, DOST, SAATHI, PARTNER, and MiTR, all manufactured at its advanced Hosur facility. With more than 5.5 lakh LCVs already on Indian roads, the company has firmly established itself as a key player in the segment.
Recently, Ashok Leyland ventured into the sub-2-ton category with the launch of SAATHI, a premium entry-level small commercial vehicle. Powered by a 45 HP engine delivering 110 Nm torque, SAATHI offers the largest loading area in its segment and a payload capacity of 1,120 kg, setting a new benchmark in the entry-level SCV market.
The company’s flagship BADA DOST platform, available in multiple variants from i2 to i5XL, combines superior mileage, payload capacity, and load body length, making it ideal for diverse inter and intra-city applications. The DOST range, PARTNER series with its acclaimed ZD30 CRDI engine, and the versatile MiTR staff and school bus line further strengthen Ashok Leyland’s offering across customer segments.
The pricing of the products has been kept competitive, with SAATHI starting at ₹6.69 lakh, DOST XL at ₹8.47 lakh, BADA DOST i5 at ₹10.45 lakh, PARTNER at ₹17.80 lakh, and MiTR bus at ₹23.50 lakh.
