In a thoughtful initiative aimed at supporting students during the monsoon season, the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, donated 123 umbrellas to all students of Chedamari LP School under the Kalipukhuri Village Council Development Committee (VCDC), Kokrajhar.

The donation drive was led by Kasturi Maitra, President of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, who personally distributed the umbrellas to the students. Speaking at the event, she emphasized the importance of ensuring children have the necessary resources to attend school regularly and comfortably, especially during the rainy season. Maitra reaffirmed the club’s ongoing commitment to community welfare and child-friendly initiatives.

Soumya Kar, Vice President of the club, also engaged warmly with the students and highlighted the significance of such support for rural schools. She encouraged the children to pursue their education with dedication and assured them of the club’s continued assistance in the future.

Krishno Kanta Das, Principal of Chedamari LP School, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club for the timely and practical donation. He noted that the umbrellas would greatly benefit the students, many of whom walk long distances to school, often facing challenging weather conditions.

Representatives from the NTPC Bongaigaon HR department, along with other members of the Ladies Club, were present at the distribution event, which saw enthusiastic participation from both students and staff.

This initiative underscores the proactive role of the Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club in fostering grassroots development and enhancing the educational experience of children in the region.
