In a milestone achievement for rural youth empowerment, Centurion University and LTIMindtree marked the successful placement of 60 students trained under their flagship CSR initiative, the “Empowerment” Skill Development Program. The placement day, a celebration of hands-on training and industry integration, saw graduates secure roles as Assistant Electricians and CNC Operators with leading companies such as HAL, UNO Minda, and Flash.

The “Empowerment” program, now in its 11th year, has already transformed the lives of over 2,000 economically disadvantaged youth, equipping them with essential skills to meet industry demands. This year, the initiative aims to place an additional 800 rural youth in gainful employment, solidifying its position as one of the region’s most impactful skill-building programs.

The placement ceremony was graced by Jitender Ghangas, Regional Director – CSR and Sustainability (East) at LTIMindtree, whose speech underscored the importance of inclusive growth and community empowerment. “At LTIMindtree, we aim to create a meaningful impact by empowering rural youth with practical skills and self-confidence, setting the foundation for their economic independence,” he said.

Dr. Ajay Kumar Nayak, Pro Vice Chancellor of Centurion University, praised the program’s success and its contribution to building a sustainable workforce in Odisha. “The ‘Empowerment’ program is critical for enhancing employability and offering transformative opportunities. We value LTIMindtree’s ongoing partnership and commitment to this mission,” he stated.

Since its inception, the collaboration between Centurion University and LTIMindtree has helped hundreds of young people break free from the cycle of poverty by equipping them with skills in high-demand sectors. The event was also attended by Debasish Panda, CFO of Centurion University, Sanjeev Mishra, Senior General Manager (Projects), and Swagatika Mohapatra, Deputy Managing Director of GramTarang, all of whom contributed to the program’s success.

As Centurion University continues its commitment to shaping Odisha’s workforce, the “Empowerment” initiative stands as a testament to the power of skill development in transforming communities — one skill at a time.
