Centurion University, in its long-standing partnership with LTIMindtree CSR, has launched the latest edition of its flagship skill development initiative — the “Empowerment” program. Now in its 11th year, the collaboration aims to train and secure employment for 800 rural youth over the next year.
The initiative builds on a proven track record — having already trained and placed over 2,000 economically disadvantaged candidates in previous years. This new phase began with 50 students receiving hands-on training in two high-demand trades: Assistant Electrician and CNC Operator. The program is tailored to provide Odisha’s youth with industry-relevant skills, opening the door to sustainable livelihoods.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Jitender Ghangas, Regional Director – CSR and Sustainability (East), LTIMindtree, reflecting the company’s strong commitment to inclusive growth and community empowerment.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ajay Kumar Nayak, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Centurion University, underscored the importance of industry-aligned skill training. “The ‘Empowerment’ program is a critical step toward enhancing employability and transforming lives through practical learning. We greatly value LTIMindtree’s continued partnership in driving this mission forward,” he said.
Sharing LTIMindtree’s vision, Ghangas said, “We believe in creating lasting impact where it matters most. Through this initiative, we aim to strengthen rural communities by equipping youth with the tools and training necessary for economic independence.”

Centurion University, known for integrating skill development with higher education, continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Odisha’s future workforce. The partnership with LTIMindtree CSR reinforces this mission by delivering advanced training, employment assistance, and strategic mentorship to underserved communities.
Also present at the event were Debasish Panda, CFO, Centurion University; Sanjeev Mishra, Sr. General Manager (Projects); and Swagatika Mohapatra, Dy. Managing Director, GramTarang, who have each contributed to ensuring the seamless execution of the initiative’s vision.
With the “Empowerment” program, Centurion University reaffirms its commitment to building not just careers, but resilient communities — one skill at a time.
