DHL Group on Friday announced the launch of its fifth DHL IT Services (ITS) center in India, located in Indore, further strengthening its commitment to building a global technology talent pipeline from the country. The new center is also the first dedicated IT Services training academy in India, designed to nurture next-generation digital skills and leadership capabilities.

With existing centers in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, the Indore facility positions India at the heart of DHL’s digital transformation strategy. DHL IT Services, the technology backbone of the world’s leading logistics provider, employs nearly 6,000 professionals worldwide, including more than 1,300 in India. The ITS teams are responsible for ensuring that DHL operates seamlessly around the clock, developing secure, scalable, and resilient IT solutions that support logistics operations globally.

The launch of the Indore center marks another major milestone in DHL Group’s long-term growth strategy for India, which has seen significant investments in expanding operations and upgrading facilities to meet increasing customer demand. “Digitalization is one of the five megatrends guiding our Strategy 2030, and India is central to building the digital backbone of our business,” said Supriya Rao Patwardhan, Executive Vice President and Global Head of IT Services, DHL Group. “With its deep talent pool and strong government focus on skill development, India is helping us deliver automation, AI, and advanced digital solutions that enhance productivity and create exceptional customer experiences.”

Indore was strategically chosen for its thriving academic ecosystem and high talent retention rates, making it an ideal location for building long-term digital capabilities. The new center, located at Brilliant Summit, has already welcomed its first 100 employees. Highlighting the significance of this expansion, Johan Berghs, SVP, Global Head of Digital Solutions and Head of ITS India, said, “We are proud to be the first major international logistics company to establish an IT center in Indore. The city’s prestigious educational institutions provide opportunities for academic collaborations that will enhance curricula and create pathways for students to join DHL Group. The strong retention rate of local talent further reinforces Indore as a strategic choice for our expansion.”

In the past two years, DHL ITS India has witnessed rapid growth, scaling from a single office to five centers within 18 months. Today, it has emerged as one of the fastest-growing technology hubs within DHL Group, with more than 1,300 digital and logistics experts. The Indore center will not only support global projects but also function as a dedicated technology training academy, equipping employees with expertise in digital technologies, automation, AI, and leadership. Through academic and industry partnerships, the center will accelerate professional development and innovation at scale.

“In just eight years, and especially in the last two, we have built a powerhouse of talent in India. What we offer is more than just jobs — we are creating career pathways, global exposure, and leadership opportunities for the next generation of technology professionals,” Berghs added. “With five centers across India and recognition as a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years, we are excited about the future we are shaping here.”

DHL ITS India already collaborates with over 15 technology partners and has piloted five academic partnerships with leading universities to align curricula with industry needs. This focus on continuous learning ensures that its teams not only contribute to DHL’s global projects but also lead innovation across AI-enabled logistics, robotics, IoT, and advanced analytics.

“As the Group’s technology partner, ITS India plays a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of logistics worldwide,” said Rao Patwardhan. “By building secure and scalable platforms and harnessing emerging technologies, our teams ensure DHL remains the global leader in tech-enabled logistics. The Indore center strengthens this vision and reaffirms India’s position as a cornerstone of our digital strategy.”
