FACOR celebrates World Environment Day with green initiatives and community engagement

Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd. (FACOR), a Vedanta Group company, celebrated World Environment Day 2025 with a series of impactful sustainability initiatives, underscoring its deep-rooted commitment to environmental stewardship and community development.

The celebrations began with the launch of FACOR’s Cycling Club, where employees rode through the verdant green belt surrounding the plant, promoting eco-friendly commuting and healthy lifestyles. This was followed by a ‘Suraksha Sankalp’ session focused on Mechanical Structural Integrity, emphasizing the importance of workplace safety and environmental awareness. Winners of various in-house competitions were felicitated with saplings, symbolizing their contributions to a greener future.

As part of the national campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, FACOR extended its green mission to nearby villages by distributing over 100 saplings and conducting community awareness drives to promote afforestation. Employees also planted saplings across the plant premises, with a target of planting 1,000 saplings during the month of June. A key highlight of the day was the inauguration of plant nurseries at both operational locations, housing over 3,000 saplings to support ongoing plantation drives.
