Jindal Foundation marks ‘Seva Diwas’ with acts of kindness and empowerment on Shallu Jindal’s birthday

The Jindal Foundation, the social arm of Jindal Steel, celebrated ‘Seva Diwas’ across multiple states to commemorate the birthday of eminent philanthropist Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of the Foundation and Chancellor of OP Jindal University. The day symbolized her unwavering dedication to humanitarian service, compassion, and social upliftment.

True to its mission of “Service Before Self,” the Foundation rolled out a diverse array of welfare initiatives — from supporting senior citizens and socially vulnerable groups to promoting women’s empowerment, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. Activities were organized at Angul, Barbil, Kasia, Tensa, and Bhubaneswar in Odisha; Raigarh and Tamnar in Chhattisgarh; Patratu in Jharkhand; Nellore in Andhra Pradesh; and Dhule in Maharashtra.

Food and essential supplies were distributed to orphanages, ashrams, and economically weaker families. In Raigarh, a submersible water pump was installed at Gram Panchayat Parsada to enhance access to clean drinking water. At Tensa, a Puffed Rice Production Centre was inaugurated to empower rural women through livelihood generation.

Furthering community well-being, the Foundation organized Ayurvedic check-ups and physiotherapy sessions for senior citizens and extended nutritional support to patients undergoing treatment, including those affected by tuberculosis.
