Jindal Foundation, the social arm of Jindal Steel, marked World AIDS Day 2025 with a comprehensive series of sensitisation and outreach activities across Angul district, reflecting its long-term commitment to community health and HIV prevention.

The observance saw vibrant participation from diverse groups as rallies were organised with students from Savitri Jindal DAV High School, college and nursing institutions, members of the transgender community, and several other stakeholder groups. Participants marched through key locations to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, emphasising the importance of early detection, safe practices and combating stigma.

Strengthening preventive efforts, the Foundation installed hoardings carrying key health messages and placed condom vending machines in identified vulnerable areas. Community engagement programmes were conducted to educate people about HIV transmission, its impact on individuals and families, and ways to safeguard their health. In collaboration with the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), Angul, a mega rally was held in Angul town, drawing significant public involvement.

Through its ICTC initiatives, the Jindal Foundation – Angul Unit has so far reached 5.34 lakh individuals with vital information on prevention, care and support. It has also facilitated voluntary HIV testing for 5.03 lakh individuals, enabling early diagnosis and access to timely treatment.

To continue the momentum beyond World AIDS Day, Jindal Steel’s Logistics Department is set to launch a week-long HIV Awareness Programme from December 3 at the truck parking area. Conducted in partnership with Last Mile Care Organisation under Project Kavach, the programme will begin with a Nukkad Natak and awareness session for truck drivers — an effort aimed at promoting safe behaviour and clearing misconceptions among a high-mobility population group.

Recognising its consistent and impactful contribution to public health, the District Health Administration has honoured Jindal Foundation for its dedicated efforts in combating HIV/AIDS.
